The Central Department of Library and Information Science, Tribhuvan University, celebrated its 31st anniversary on 30th Asar, 2083 with  FOHSS Dean Prof. Dr. Dubi Nanda Dhakal, Principal Prof. Dr. Akkal Dev Mishra, TU Central Library Chief Mr. Sagar Raj Subedi, Nepal Library Association President Mr. Pushpa Raj Subedi and TULSSAA President Mr. Rajendra Neupane as distinguished guests, faculty, alumni and students. Speakers highlighted the department's exemplary initiatives, including journal publication, book launches, academic awards and recognition of outstanding librarians and students. They emphasised the continuing importance of both digital and physical libraries, the need for improved library infrastructure, supportive policies and professional development. The department released its annual journal and a new textbook, presented research experiences, honoured top-performing graduates and an outstanding librarian, and reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, collaboration, innovation and the advancement of library and information science in Nepal.
