On 5th February 2024 (Magh 22, 2080), TUCDLIS welcomed the new batch of MLISc., Students (batch 2023) by hosting an interactive orientation program with the keynote speech from Prof. Dr. Binil Aryal, Dean, Institute of Science and Technology, TU. This program was conducted at Gandhi Bhawan, within TU premises.

The program began with a welcome speech from the Head of the Department, Mrs. Lila Nyaichyai, Ph.D. She started her welcome and introductory presentation with a short introduction about CDLIS, its Website and its various pages, the Digital Library, and Digital Repository of the CDLIS, the CDLIS Bulletin, and the rules of the TU or Department itself.

The introductory and welcome program was then followed by a short introduction of the students. In addition, ex-student of the department, Arun Kumar Rai, TULSSAA President, Mahesh Khanal, retired faculty of the department, Associate Professor Rudra Prasad Dulal, Acting Chief of TUCL, Sagar Raj Subedi shared their professional experiences and provided tips and guidance for students’ academic success and professional carriers.

Assistant Prof. Sarita Gautam, welcomed students with her informational description regarding MLISc. course structure, and internal marking systems. Then, the formal program was concluded by Assistant Prof. Nira Manandhar with her motivational speech.
